How It Works
A G-pen is powered by a battery which means that you do not need the torch. All you have to do is place the wax inside the pen using your dabber and press the on button to heat up the concentrate. Vapor should come out in just a few seconds followed by an inhaling action through the open side of the pen.
G-Pen Components
Compared to a rig, the g-pen is more sophisticated with a larger number of components. However, that does not mean that it is tough to use. Here are the typical components of a g-pen and exactly what function they perform to provide you with a quality dabbing experience:
Mouthpiece - basically, this is where your mouth goes to inhale the smoke. You can often remove the mouthpiece for cleaning purposes.
Ceramic Filter - this filters the vapor before reaching your mouth, ensuring that you will get only the purest smoke without any particles that might be attached to it.
Heating Chamber Shell - this is the outer layer of the heating chamber, ensuring that it is protected and will not cause substantial burn on your skin. Since it requires high temperature to vaporize the concentrate, the shell is fitted in to provide protection against the high temperature.
Heating Chamber - this is where the concentrate is placed and heated for it to turn into vapor. The chamber is often made with glass although other g-pens may use a different material for this component. Bearing in mind that glass is prone to breaking, it is usually a good idea to find a g-pen made from different materials.
Battery - last we have the battery which is often part of the g-pen. This means that you do not have to replace it, but you will need to keep it charged via USB cable.
